MLB Bedding

There's no crying in baseball, and there should be no crying in bedding. Creating your MLB themed bedroom is a great bonding opportunity for you and your parents, and you don't have to be a die-hard sports fan to enjoy MLB bedding in your room. All you need is a love for the game and you're half way there. Here are some helpful tips to become the MVP of your space.

Bedding is the foundation for all bedrooms. It inspires accessories and color scheme. Do you want a duvet, quilt or a standard comforter? 3-piece or more bedding sets are a great option. Don't limit yourself to what's in the bag, but it's an excellent start.

Always make sure you know your bed size. Do you have a twin, full, queen or king-sized bed? Not all kids have a twin, so make sure you understand the size of your bed, so you can shop with confidence. As tempting as it may be, don't let yourself purchase something that isn't the right size. It will look sloppy (or too tight) and you'll have to start the search all over again.

Specific Bedding

What is your favorite MLB team? Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Mets, Boston Red Sox, Texas Rangers, Kansas City Royals? Some kids just love baseball in general, in which case, make your bedding specific to the sport.

If you do have a favorite MLB team, search for all options, narrow it down, and then go from there. If you're finding limited twin bedding choices and blankets on a less popular MLB team, try taking one item and running with it. For example, if you find some high-quality sheets with a Baltimore Orioles logo, but you dislike the comforter, get the sheets and find a quilt, duvet, or comforter (reversible bedding is encouraged) that goes with the color palette. Same goes with blankets, pillows, and shams.

Accent Pillows with Bedding

Pillows are great accessories and sometimes that's all you need to turn a basic blue bedspread into an MLB inspired room. Pillows and covers can instantly turn a blank slate into a sports-obsessed haven. If you have a busy sports themed bedspread, try a basic pillow or pillowcase. It's all about balance. If you have a sheet that's busy with a conservative comforter, have fun matching a louder pillow to the sheets. Always look for anything reversible for even more options.

Decorations with Bedding

Once you have your bedding, start bringing in accessories. Try a sports inspired lamp in the shape of a bat, a cork board with the MLB franchise color. Use accented knobs of different sports shapes and sizes on the drawers. Create a personalized varsity style logo for your room.
