As the founder of the non-profit CG Kidz, Riley Hoffer is doing all she can today to create a healthier planet for tomorrow. Through www.cgkidz.com, she shares tips on how kids of all ages can be green in their everyday lives and help their parents become more eco-friendly, too.
As the face of CynerGreen and CG Kidz, Riley has spoken to more than 20 audiences in the past year, empowering and challenging listeners across the country to take action. She's even designed a reusable water bottle that she donates to schools and communities with environmental programming needs. This year alone, she's donated more than 2000 reusable bottles and she hopes that her donations will result in fewer plastic bottles ending up in landfills.
Riley has been given a prestigious United States Green Building Council Youth Leadership Award for 2009. The award is one of five given to youth environmental leaders in the US each year. She is attending various events including Youth Speaks in Washington DC, in April, to represent kids across the country and share a message of environmental stewardship and change.
Riley has been featured as a Child Luminary by Inspiration Today and profiled by CBS news for her visit to a Harlem New York school where she held an Eco-Assembly, donated her reusable water bottles and helped to found the school's first environmental club.
Riley is truly an inspiration and has already been invited to share her message at green festivals, schools and corporate events well into 2010. To keep up with demands, she's had to create an alternate school schedule for the 7th grade.
We know that no matter how busy her schedule gets, Riley will do her best to continue spreading her eco-friendly message to as many kids as possible, all while keeping up her good grades.
