Kaylee Marie: Cleveland, TN

It's been said that life without music would not be worth living and Kaylee Marie of Cleveland, TN is in agreement. When she learned that many American troops stationed in remote areas throughout the world were without access to music, she took it upon herself to create a positive change. At the age of 14, Kaylee Marie founded Tunes 4 the Troops, an organization dedicated to mailing new and donated CDs and DVDs to soldiers serving in combat zones and beyond.

Since its founding four years ago, Tunes 4 the Troops has donated over 604,000 CDs and DVDs – totaling over 10 million dollars. It is Kaylee Marie's mission to reach one million CD and DVD donations by the year 2010.

While Kaylee Marie's tremendous efforts have received recognition throughout the country, including a write-up in The Washington Post, she's most inspired by the thank you notes she's received from soldiers who have appreciated the movies, music CDs and books on CD that she's sent them. The Tunes 4 the Troops mission statement is: It's not about supporting or opposing the war, but ALL about supporting the Troops. We think Kaylee Marie has done an amazing job of that!
