ALL ABOUT THE ASPCA®
This time of year is all about giving, and for all of the animal lovers out there, it’s a magical time to make a difference. PBteen is excited to join forces with The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals® (ASPCA®), an organization dedicated to preventing animal cruelty, nation-wide. With a far-reaching goal to increase pet adoption and find homeless animals loving, forever families, the ASPCA is focused on shaping a world in which the lives of animals can be protected and improved. And because we’re so excited about our collaboration, we’ve assembled a collection of helpful facts and statistics that will familiarize you with the ASPCA’s cause and how to become more involved.
THE PARTNERSHIP
Because four-legged friends are our favorite friends, PBteen has teamed up with the ASPCA to create a special collection of pillows and accessories that gives back. THE PURPOSE
Founded in 1866 by Henry Bergh, the ASPCA has stayed true to its original belief that “animals are entitled to kind and respectful treatment at the hands of humans and must be protected under the law.” Even after all of these years, the New York-based non-profit is still dedicated to their original undertaking. According to the organization’s founder, Henry Bergh, their actionable mission is “to provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals throughout the United States.”
FUN FACT: The ASPCA was the first humane society instituted in North America and remains one of the largest internationally!
WHAT DO THEY DO?
They save lives! Regardless of the location or degree of implementation, the ASPCA will handle animal cruelty cases whenever needed—whether it’s an introductory investigation or the placement of an animal in their new, forever home.
They Increase Adoption!
The ASPCA does whatever they can to increase the likelihood of adoption for homeless and in-need animals throughout the United States. They work towards specific goals such as keeping animals in safe homes and helping to manage and support shelter intake and surrender.
They Keep Them Safe!
From federal laws to community courts and engagement, the ASPCA strives to prevent dangerous and unsafe situations for animals and to intervene when harmful conditions occur.
FUN FACT: There has been an astounding 4,600 adoptions from the ASPCA Adoption Center!
HOW YOU CAN HELP

Since the ASPCA is an entirely non-profit organization, they are completely dependent on donations from animal lovers and advocates to keep them up and running! And with multiple donation possibilities to choose from, you’re sure to find an option that you can feel great about. Options include: monthly donations, one time donations, memorial and honor gifts, car donations, planned giving and Founder’s Society donations.
