Seasonal Changes To Keep
Your Bedroom Style Fresh
Your bedroom is more than just the place where you sleep. It is the place where you study at your desk, the place where you hang out with your friends, the place where you chill on the weekends and the place where you plan your goals and dreams for the future. But after a while, the familiar contents of your room may start to feel boring. That is why seasonal updates are a must. Check out these things you can do to give your bedroom a fresh start with each season.

Spring
Spring is the season for all things fresh and new. It is the perfect time to liven things up with cheery colors and beautiful floral prints and flowers.
• Talk to your parents about giving your bedroom a fresh coat of paint. Spring is the perfect time to do it. Vibrant pinks, greens and yellows; pastel pinks and blues; and shades of turquoise are all good springtime colors.
• When it comes to window coverings, choose something that is light and airy and easy to open, such as sheers, so you can let the spring sun flood the room with light.
• Buy a pretty new vase and add fresh flowers. If you don’t want fresh flowers, consider adding floral accents like throw pillows or even framed art featuring spring-like settings.
• Be sure to do your spring cleaning. Just organizing your clutter can make your bedroom feel like a whole new room.
• Open up your space by moving your furniture away from the center of the room.
• Choose a fresh floral or brightly colored rug to place in the center as a focal point.

Summer
For summer, think bright colors, the beach and lighter fabrics. Because you are out of school, you will probably spend more time in your bedroom than normal this time of year, so make it feel like you are on vacation.
• If you did not swap out your curtains for lighter drapes and sheers during the spring, do it now. You can never have too much sunshine.
• Add pops of bright colors to your bedroom with accents like throw pillows, rugs, wall art and even new knobs for your dresser.
• Consider framing your favorite beach or pool photos featuring you and your family and friends to remind you of summers past. You could also add a collage of summery photos to a pin board.
• Bring the beach to your bedroom. Seashells and other nautical items placed around the room are a great way to celebrate summer. You can even buy an indoor palm tree from your local plant nursery.
• Switch out your heavy bedding in favor of something light in a shade of blue or green that reflects the colors of the ocean.

Fall
Fall means back to school, yummy treats and beautiful jewel-colored leaves. Incorporating these items into your bedroom is simple.
• If you added a vase of flowers to your bedroom during the spring, consider switching them out for something a little more autumnal. Fill the vase with fall-colored leaves or pine cones, or replace it with miniature pumpkins.
• Your local craft store will also sell artificial berries or tree branches with fall leaves on them that make great arrangements.
• If they match your walls and bedding, opt for accents in reds, oranges, yellows and browns.
• Add a pennant to your wall to pay homage to your school or your favorite college football team.
• Incorporate candles in fall scents like pumpkin spice, apple cider, cinnamon, cranberry and maple.

Winter
Winter is all about adding a cozier warmer feel to your bedroom, even if you live in a place that stays above 70 degrees year-round. Heavier fabrics and all things snow set the tone.
• Consider swapping out your curtains for those made of heavier materials. Not only do they add to the winter look, but they will help keep your room warmer, too.
• Frame and hang winter-themed pictures of your friends and family. Swap out the beach vacation picture for the ski vacation picture. Blow up and frame that fun picture of the snowman you built last year. If you do not have any personal winter pictures, opt for scenic pictures from places like Alaska that feature plenty of snow.
• Look for throw pillows made from scarves and sweaters or try making one yourself if you are crafty.
