How To Optimize Your Small Space

Whether it's a dorm room or your first apartment, small space necessities are essential! After all, this is your new home-away-from-home.

1. Utilize All Your Space
When decorating my room I knew I would need to incorporate a few small space solutions. There are so many small space designs that I almost couldn't decide which one I wanted! I was torn between the A-Frame and X-Frame Storage Racks, but ultimately went with my first choice.

The wooden accent adds a rustic touch, fills the corner of my room perfectly and provides more storage for clothes, which is always a great thing since closet space in dorms and apartments can be minimal. I like to keep all of my newest items out so that I can easily incorporate them into outfits.

2. Organization is Key
Keeping your room clean and organized comes down to the system in place. I used these Woven Catchall Baskets to hold my extra blankets for when friends came over. The best part is that it can be used as a storage spot or as a hamper to keep your dirty clothes out of sight.

3. Creating the Ultimate Sleep Space
Making the most of your space includes creating a cozy sleep space you love. I chose bedding in light hues so that it would open up the space and keep everything bright. This Pretty Pleats Quilt has a touch of texture and comes in a set so that you can buy the bedding and sheeting together! Add in a cozy throw and you're ready for all of those late night study sessions or Netflix marathons!
