Decorating Tips For
Your College Dorm Room

When I moved to college I pretty much packed up my clothes and essentials into the car and hit the road. Once I got to campus, I went shopping to get all new bedding and all new decorations, which was so much fun!

I've always liked a clean and comfortable look, so I decided to decorate simply with Pottery Barn Teen's Ruched Duvet Cover + Sham and an accent throw from their Emily & Meritt Collection. I love this look because it calms me after a hectic day of classes. Simple can be better! Plus, I've found that if you share your space with a roommate, it's best to go with solid colors so you don't clash.

I added a bit of color with a cactus plant that I found at a greenery nearby. I love watching it grow and I really like incorporating some of the outside nature into the room to keep it feeling fresh. I absolutely love my Tilda Bubble Table Lamp because it's the perfect light for night-time studying and it gives off a soft glow for lounging and watching TV on the weekends.

Dorm Hack:

Use your refrigerator as your nightstand to save space! It's the perfect height for a raised bed.

To keep a reminder of home close by, I've framed some of my favorite pictures of my friends and family. It's always nice to look up and know that I have their support and that they are always there if I need them.

I love all these designs because they are great gifts for someone that is moving off to college or even moving from a dorm to an apartment. They are very versatile and easy to mix and match with other decor! My personal favorite is the duvet cover because it's so cozy and the perfect weight for all four seasons.
