5 Ways to Organize
Your Dorm Room
Downsizing to a small space can be challenging, especially when you have to fit all of your things into a tiny closet. It can get messy really fast so it's important to come up with a plan for staying organized right at the start. Use these 5 closet hacks to keep your space neat and tidy all year.
1. First thing's first! I went through all of my belongings and donated the clothes hadn't worn in forever to Salvation Army and Goodwill.
2. Next, I categorized my clothes into seasons and stored what I'm not really wearing in an under-bed storage bin. This really helps maximize your space.
3. Because I don't have room for a dresser, I use Pottery Barn Dorm bins to store my pants, t-shirts and pajamas. My favorites are their Shimmer Stripe Bins because the neutral colors keep my space looking chic and clean at the same time.
4. I typically store my workout clothes, baseball caps and random little things up top (since I grab them less often) and place my daily grab-n-go clothes lower so they are easy to reach.

I've found that adding a desk organizer (like my Pottery Barn Dorm organizer!) helps cut the clutter. My jewelry stand and pineapple lamp add extra personality.
I kept my bedding neutral and added a more personal element to my room with a gallery wall. I always wanted a gallery wall in my bedroom at home, but I never could because of the bed frame I had. I love the way it turned out!
I also added a floor lamp that's easy to turn off right before bed and a fuzzy pillow to my bed for another pop of color. It's fun to mix and match pillows, so I definitely want to add more!
